With a vision to earn his livelihood (Late) Shri Ramkumarji Bajaj married to Smt Parmeshwari Devi Bajaj S/O (Late) Sri Sagarmalji Bajaj , nephew of (Late) Sri Nagarmalji Bajaj had come to North-East India and started his livelihood by setting up a grocery store in Chai Gali,Fancy Bazar,Guwahati.He then started business in Bara Bazar,Opposite Jeepstand , Shillong where we currently have our head office.(Late) Shri Ram Kumarji Bajaj alongwith Late Shri Ram Niranjanji Bajaj (married to Smt Radha Devi Bajaj of the Manpuria family of Kolkata) then started the Foodgrain business and took over the Distribution of Dalda Ghee and FMCG goods.He also set up a Rice Mill , Saw Mill in Jowai,Meghalaya and a Sodium Silicate plant in Guwahati.He later on diversified into Low Ash Metallurgical coke , Lime and Wax processing.Late Shri Ram Niranjanji Bajaj spent a lot of time with his friends and some of his friends were Late Shri Rameshwarji Goenka , Late Shri Laduramji Goenka , Late Shri Ratanlalji Singhania ,Late Shri Radheyshyamji Jasrasaria , Late Shri Gajanandji Chachan , Late Shri Mahavir Shah , Late Shri Laduramji Sharma , Late Shri Mahavirji Saraf,Shri Motilalji Jhunjhunwala and Shri JN Bawri to name a few.Playing the traditional "Choppar" was a regular feature in the Bageecha of the Goenkas on weekends.
Shri Banwari Lal Bajaj the only son of Late Shri Ram Niranjan Bajaj is married to Smt Madhu Bajaj of the Jaipuria family of Kolkata .He started his career with the food grain business and then entered Timber exports , Wax processing and Low Ash Metallurgical Coke (LAMC) manufacturing.He then diversified to Lime , Cement , Ferroalloys & Alum manufacturing.He wanted his presence in retailing also and started a lifetyle retail store by the name of COSMOS in Police Bazar,Shillong.He also ventured into Petro retailing and set up a Petro retailing outlet with Reliance Industries Ltd in Byrnihat,Meghalaya.Mr Banwari Bajaj has two sons Rahul (married to Smt Sweta Bajaj of the Lohia family of Guwahati) and Gaurav.His daughter Ritu is married to Shri Raja Gupta of Guwahati.Shri Banwari Lal Bajaj is heading the group and is currently focussing on Power,Cement , Real Estates & Retail sector.
Shri Banwari Lal Bajaj has five sisters - Smti Pushpa Mittal , Smti Manju Devi Sureka , Smti Pramila Keyal , Smti Urmila Singhania and Smti Kusum More.
The Bajaj family originally hails from Lachmangarh,Rajasthan and we regularly visit our native town |
